Fire Marshal

Students in grades two through five have an opportunity to become their classroom Junior and Senior Fire Marshals.  The Marshals are selected by their teachers.

When the fire alarm sounds the job of the Jr. Fire Marshal is to lead his/her classmates out of the classroom to a designated safe place. The Senior Fire Marshal makes sure that everyone is out of the room, the lights are turned off, and the door is closed.  The Sr. Fire Marshal then positions himself/herself at the end of the line and when the class has reached the designated safe area, he/she counts the students and reports this number to the teacher.

When the "ALL CLEAR" signal sounds, the Sr. Fire Marshal leads the students back to the classroom and the Jr. Fire Marshal is at the end of the line to make sure that everyone returns to the classroom.
