Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is to make learning fun for all students, as active engagement is valuable to their learning. My personal feelings and beliefs about teaching are that learning should be fun and that students who have fun during class learn more because their minds are actively engaged. I want my students activity engaged in learning at all times, if possible. When students are actively engaged in their learning, they are processing and retaining information and using higher order thinking skills. When I design activities that promote active engagement, I am reinforcing student learning, keeping students interested and on task, and making learning relevant and fun. I try to remember that children want to achieve and will achieve if they are in a positive learning environment conducive to successful learning. I capitalize on this belief in ways that reinforce their learning.
